NYPD gearing up for new Mercedes House location

Crews have been making progress on the new NYPD location in the Mercedes House. The new place takes up a wide stretch along W 53rd St, with a very modern exterior:

Way back in 2011, DNAinfo reported that this might be incoming – although it was close to being cancelled – and apparently the plan is for it to serve as the new horse stables for the department. The horses will be living right next door to the state-​of-​the-​art Mercedes-​Benz dealership, which will make for a funny contrast.
