  1. Help save Kashkaval

    The decade-​old “cheese market” and wine bar Kashkaval on 9th Ave up between 55th & 56th will be forced to close at the end of this month since their landlord, the Clinton Housing Development Company, has given them notice that their lease will not be renewed, and is apparently refusing to discuss any change of a renewal.

    Running out of time, the owners of Kashkaval have started a petition to try get the CHDC to renew their lease.

  1. Help RMM Support the Area

    The Rauschenbusch Metro Ministries, a local organization that provides support to youths and adults in the area, as well as major supporters of the HK Farm Project, are running a fundraiser for their youth camp and other services.

    They’ve raised over $4500 so far, so are extremely close to breaking their $5000 target. If you want to support the group, head here to donate.

  1. Last Chance to Support Teresa’s Park Renovation

    413 W 39th St

    CultivateHKNY are crowdsourcing funding for revitalizing the park on 39th St formerly known as Bird Park, and funding for the renovation closes tomorrow night. They’ve easily passed the low goal they set of $500, but need more to help turn the park into their vision.

    DNAInfo have a piece from June on Mario Mattia, the son of Teresa who the park will be named in memory of, as well as more details on the plans for the park.
