Life in and around Hell’s Kitchen, NYC
After being closed by the health department last week, Zigolinis on 9th Ave has reopened. Everything seems to be straight back to normal:
The new Mexican bar and restaurant on 10th Ave – Mamasita – has now opened, and they’re running a bunch of cheap drink specials to celebrate. We’ve got more information about it in our post from earlier this week.
As spotted by Midtown Lunch, The Kati House, a month-old addition to W 36th St, was shut down last Thursday for alcohol violations:
The spot seemed to have been getting good reviews from customers who tried it out over the last few weeks, and is pretty cheap, so it’s disappointing to see them closed. We’ll keep an eye out for their reopening.
El Azteca, the popular Mexican restaurant/bar on 9th Ave just north of 52nd St, was shut down recently by the Department of Health:
The restaurant’s decided to make the most of the situation, however, and has decided to renovate the interior. It’s only been three days, and they’re already deep into the refitting.
They’ve had a pretty rough history in past health inspections, with a number of violations, but the closure was a first.
Here’s hoping they’re back up and running soon, with the health “issues” fixed.
